FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR

Hi Everyone!

We had a good time at the district chili cook off. We had a tie for 1st place. JR and Rose (Garden Grove) and Francis and Crew (La Habra). 3rd place went to Bridget and Linda (Garden Grove).  We had a good turnout and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Thank you to all who participated. You all did a good job! Congratulations to all the new officers.  Please offer to help them and support them in any way you can. It takes a lot of volunteers to make the lodge run. Thanks to all the outgoing officers. Job well done. At our convention in Reno, our lodge received the 5 Star award. I am very proud of that. Leonard Chapman received the award for Outstanding Service for Heart of the Community. This includes the work for the lodge for the Veterans and Community Service. Bridget was presented her Lifetime Achievement Award. This includes her work with Youth Awareness, Membership and Community Service.  She has a pretty impressive resume. Congratulations to both!  John and Rose put on a good time at their party. The place was packed! The band was good as usual. Congratulations to Garden Grove!! We had all 3 finalist for Youth Awareness. I've been told that has never happened before. Good job Bridget, Linda, and Gary. Some kind of celebration will be going on in May.  Look at the calendar for details. Hope to see all you women on Mother's Day. Bring your appetites. We will have a Memorial Day BBQ. Please bring side dishes. Look for the dates in the calendar for the flag placements at Riverside. It is something worth while doing.  Check the calendar for all of the May events.

Your Admininstrator, Keith

FROM THE GOVERNOR

Hello Everybody,

This will be my final message as your Governor. I want to thank everyone who supported me this past year. Also, I’d like to thank everyone who served on the board last year and am happy to serve with the new board this year. We’re starting the year off with a Mothers Day Breakfast on May 14th. All mothers/women will receive a hosted breakfast served by the LOOM. Make some time to celebrate mom with us. There will also be a BBQ on Memorial Day. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be grilling. Please bring a side dish. We also have dinners most Friday nights and breakfast served most Sundays as well as hamburger and taco nights. The weather is starting to heat up so take a break away from the stove and join us for a nice dinner. Remember these dinners are run by lodge members like you. Take time to thank them for all that they do.See you at the lodge,

John Darling, Governor

Please, see any Chapter Officer to get you started. These are important seats Again I would like to thank all those who were there and gave me a "Big" helping hand. I couldn't have done it alone! John Darling and I both hope you had a great time at our “Thank You” Party.

Ronald McDonald House Food Donations

Do you hate Cancer? Do you love Children?
A few hours can make a huge difference! We are looking for volunteers to drive to Farmers Market in Hollywood, pick up food donations and delivery them to the Ronald McDonald House (a few miles away). We have a food pick up every Sunday at 2:00 pm. All you need is a vehicle with enough room for 8-12 boxes of food! And the willingness to help others! It counts towards Community Service hours for your Lodge, Chapter or High School students!

Community Service Recognition

(Leonard Chapman - Community Services Chairman)

The California / Nevada Moose Association has recognized Leonard Chapman for his Community Service Projects supporting "H.O.P.E. and "Care Packages for our Troops". You can view his accomplishments on the California / Nevada Moose Association website: www.ca-nvmoose.org and our website: www.loom620.org. Just access the "Community Service" section of each website. Great job and congratulations Leonard!!!. Our lodge is proud you and all our members who helped make these projects become a reality. Remember, anyone in our lodge may submit their Community Service contributions to Leonard (Community Service Chairman) or SHIM (Web Administrator). Just submit a brief description of your project, names and any photos (digital photos preferred) that apply.

California / Nevada Community Service Recognition Qualifications:

"Through countless hours and personal expenses, many Moose members and Co-workers spend time on a regular basis helping others. Time spent in volunteer service at local hospitals, police departments, health fairs, senior citizens center, taking care of those in need, raising money for those in need and the list goes on and on. . . . Let us recognize those that do go beyond the norm. There are Brothers and Co-Workers who have gone the extra miles in Community Service. We would like to recognize them for their commitment to the Children, the Elderly and Community. If you have a Community Service Story that goes far and beyond that deems recognition, please submit your story to us so we may share your achievement with everyone on our website (www.ca-nvmoose.org). All information and photos will become property of the webmaster. Let’s show those that go the extra mile we appreciate all that they do for the Moose and mankind. "

Garden Grove Moose Lodge Community Service Recognition Qualifications:

Our qualifications are not as demanding as those required by the California / Nevada Moose Association. Any member of our lodge who contributes to the betterment of our community no matter how small or large will be recognized and their accomplishment (s) will be posted on our website: www.loom620.org.

Let's be proud of what we do for our community and share our accomplishments with the people of our community, members of our lodge, our brothers and sisters throughout the Moose Fraternity, and finally but not least all non-members. When non-members see what the Moose Fraternity stands for and what it's members are trying to achieve, hopefully they will join our cause and become members.

Thank You,

SHIM (Garden Grove Moose Lodge Web Administrator)

LOOM / WOTM Needs Your Help !!!

The Message is Membership Membership Membership!!!

“It’s a New Year!   Both the LOOM and WOTM need new members in order to make lodge and chapter honors for 2015/2016. Now is the time to sign-up and enroll that new member. You already know about our fraternity and the good we do for Mooseheart and Moosehaven.

Your help is needed to bring in new members.  Be sure to explain to a potential member all the benefits they can enjoy as a Moose member.  As a member they can save money at motels/hotels across the nation, car rentals, car insurance, Sherwin-Williams paint, drug prescriptions and many other benefits. In fact, most of these benefits would save more money than you would pay for your yearly membership card. So sign-up that new member and make 620 and  1117  proud”.

And thank you John Darling for helping with dishes and Aaron Johnson for supplying the cornhole game. You all rock and are the greatest friends! Stephanie

Once again I would like to thank my Friday crew for helping me with my dinners.  I can't do it without you.  I am taking a small break to give other members a chance to step in and cook.  I really appreciate it when people stop me in social quarters and ask me if they can help.  It’s music to my ears.  Thank you all  for supporting my dinners. Its people like you that make my endeavors a success.  It is the first year that I really stepped forward and I really am enjoying it. On the sad side, there are three hundred women in our organization, why is it that only a small handful of us  ever show up for the womens meetings??  Meetings are a great source of finding out what the Moose is all about.  Every one is welcome.  It's not just about the social quarters.  Take some time.{meetings last about a half hour} and join us to find out what really is going on,.

I GUESS THEY WORKED A LONG TIME TO GET THIS GOING.  I AM OVERWHELMED THAT SO MANY FRIENDS CAME TO SHARE THIS JOY WITH ME, AND SOME EVEN  GAVE MY LITTLE DAISY A GIFT ALSO, SO THOUGHTFUL.  I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT DAY. THANK EACH AND EVERYONE ONCE AGAIN, FOR THE TIME OF MY LIFE.  MY MOM HAD NEVER EVER GIVEN ME A BIRTHDAY PARTY, SO I CONSIDER THIS AN HONOR. I  REALLY HAVE SOMETHING TO REMEMBER. THANK ALL OF YOU FOR BEING MY DEAR FRIENDS, I LOVE U ALL.FINALLY, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK DARLENE, JUDY, DIANA, PATTY, JERRY, & GARY FOR ALL THEIR HELP.

THANK YOU

I would like to thank everyone for their caring support and assistance during Chuck's Memorial Service. The turnout was awesome and the service was beautiful. Everyone's prayers, thoughts, and sharing of memories of Chuck last Sunday was touching and comforting. Words cannot express the gratitude by family and friends. Chuck would have been extremely touched.

From the Legion 203

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who are members of the Moose Legion. Your Legion membership supports many programs at Mooseheart. You also support one of my favorite programs, "Camp Ross" where the kids get a chance to "get away" and enjoy the camp and all that it offers. The Legion is now a "higher degree of service", and the next step to the "Fellowship, and Pilgrim Degree".

For those of you who have not advanced to the Legion and are eligible, please think about joining us, we are the "degree of service"."

Thank you....
